Green, Blue, and Grey Infrastructure
As it became clear that CSOs pose a giant problem to New York, plans and infrastrucutre arose with prospects of tackling the problem of CSOs and hopefully preventing them. This is shown in the form of Green, Blue, and Grey infrastrucutre.
Green
Natural land and plant based ecological treatment systems and processes that are placed in efforts of slowing the flow of storm run-off
Infrastructure
Blue
It is the use of small footprint high-efficiency devices installed and retrofitted within existing collection systems.” Basically, it is the middle ground between green and grey infrastructure.
